We were crouched behind mrs. Crummy’s hedge, stealing irises from her perfect garden. Mam’s birthday was the next day and we had no money, just nerve.

The flowers were tall and wild, buttery-yellow, smelling green and earthy as we pulled them free. The front door opened mid-escape.

“Do you think you’re in a field?” She called.

Caught. Red-faced. Guilty.

“Your mother better appreciate them.”

She did. Mam laughed, put them in a chipped vase, and told the story for years.

Every spring after, that same wild scent brought us right back – muddy shoes, racing hearts, doing something small and stupid and good.

All returns, items must be unworn, unwashed, still have their tags attached & be accompanied by proof of purchase.
